Campbell Sporting Two Offers

As running back Jeremiah Young broke the Pennsylvania all-time rushing record this season one player from Steelton-Highspire that has been overlooked is signal caller Andre Campbell. Campbell accounted for four touchdowns in his teams’ 35-16 win in the Pennsylvania Class A State Championship game and is sitting on two scholarship offers at this point.

Steelton, Pa., product Andre Campbell doesn’t necessarily have the size you would look for in a prototypical quarterback, so it’s not surprise the 6-foot-1, 200-pound athlete is being recruited to play quarterback, wide receiver, safety and outside linebacker at this point. We talked to him recently about his recruiting activity and where he’ll be visiting in January.

“Right now I have offers from Hofstra and Rhode Island and I’m waiting on offers from JMU, Connecticut and Villanova,” Campbell explained. “Connecticut came by the other day to grab my transcripts and film and told me that they would want me to play safety for them which I’m definitely fine with. They really just came on strong recently, so unfortunately I don’t know too much about them at this point other than that they’re a strong football program.”

“I really don’t have a favorite at all right now to be honest. I have an official set to Hofstra right now and that’s it. I’m just going to have to go from here and see where things take me.”

Campbell is ranked 21st out of the 167 students in his class and carries a 91-percent GPA.
