Patrick Nicely committed to Bowling Green last summer, but with the coaching change at BG he is now…
Nicely Trying To Narrow
As the 2009 class heads into the homestretch of recruiting, many prospects remain uncommitted as schools try to scramble and fill their classes. Patrick Nicely is among those prospects with a decision yet to be made. "It's going well" Nicely said of his recruiting process. "I'm just taking my visits. I'm just weighing my options evenly between all my visits." Nicely has already completed two of his official visits, and spoke highly about both in-state schools that received said visits from the Willoughby signal caller. "I visited Toledo and Ohio University. When I went to Toledo, it was the first week Coach Beckman just got hired, and he just made sure it was a good time. I like the offense that they're bringing there, and there are always good things at Toledo. When I went to Ohio, it was more the coach was very laid back, very classy, and he does things by the book. I had a lot of fun there too, it's a beautiful place." With the Rockets and Bobcats visits already taken care of, two more Mid-American Conference teams have visits set with Nicely. "I have Akron planned for an official visit on the 16th and Central Michigan on the 23rd." Although his offers and visits have been set with MAC schools, one ACC team is looking to possibly jump into the ring for Nicely's services. The Eagles of Boston College have recently shown increased interest. "Well Boston College came in to pick up my senior film. They want to get a look at my senior film first, then, they're going to make a decision. I'll go on a visit if they want to bring me up there." While things appear to be narrowed down as much as they can be at this point, no school has jumped to the front for Nicely. All of the schools stand on equal ground with less than a month before signing day. "I'm trying to not leave any stone unturned, so I'm wearing them all equally. I've got to make the best decision for me, so they're all equal right now until I get to really sit down and think about them." Equal as all the schools may be, it's a recruitment that will have fans holding their collective breaths right up until the last possible moment. "Close to signing day I'll probably make my decision."
