Scout.com spoke with Provo (Utah) Timpview DB Chris Badger, who took an unofficial visit to Oregon over the weekend. It's one of a handful of unofficials Badger has taken while he gets familiar with his schools of interest.
"Yeah I just got back (from
Oregon
)," Badger told Scout.com. "The trip went well and they really went out of their way for me."
Badger, considered one of top prospects from the Beehive State for the class of 2010 with teammate
Bronson Kaufusi
, as well as a top-10 prospect from the Northwest region, noted that 'just driving with (UO DB coach John) Neal around the campus and then watching some football with him in his office' was a highlight. "The facilities are second to none as well," he added.
BYU
and
Utah
have already offered Badger a scholarship, and he's visited
LSU
and
Stanford
on top of UO, Utah and BYU. "I will probably will decide where to go this summer," he said. "I would be happy going to a place like BYU or Utah, but I've always wanted to play at a big time program and could see my self going out of state for sure. The Pac-10 would be very cool. I've sent my film out to a lot of different schools; all the pac-10 schools and some others. I'll see over the next few months who is interested, but right now Oregon, LSU, and Utah show me the most love.
"I'm just going to sit down with my family and decide in the next six months."
Badger, who is LDS, has still some thinking to do when it comes to serving his mission. "I'm leaning towards serving when im done with college but its something I'm still deciding on," he said, adding that ideally the mission won't play a big part in his eventual decision. "If a coach tells me I absolutely can't go it will," he said. "But if they leave the decision up to me then it won't be a big deal as to picking a school."
