Darrington Sentimore eager for visit
"I am looking forward to my visit this weekend," said Darrington Sentimore. "I can't wait to get up there. Coach [Nick] Saban is coming next week for an in-home visit. He was supposed to come a while back, but I was playing in a bowl game." "Coach [Burton] Burns has been coming down. He came to my school. He talks about how I am still going to come to Alabama. I think he is a nice guy. He is down-to-earth. He will take good care of me. If I need someone to talk to I will talk." Sentimore didn't keep it a secret several months ago hoping to receive an offer from LSU. The Tigers held off until recently, but Sentimore was already committed to Alabama. "LSU offered me last Wednesday," Sentimore said. "It's nice to receive an offer, but I am not going to acknowledge it. I am going to Alabama. Alabama is the school for me, and the only school I will visit." "Alabama is winning, and they have a great program. They have a great coaching staff. I think they are going to win a national championship very soon. They have a great recruiting class. I think it should be No. 1." The 6-foot-3, 275-pound prospect is very athletic and moves extremely well. He finished the season with more than 100 tackles. He had 15 tackles in the state championship game along with two sacks and pressured the West Monroe quarterback to throw an interception which was returned for a touchdown. "It felt so great winning back-to-back state championships," he explained. "It felt really good to win MVP honors. It was the best feeling of my life." Sentimore will focus on the off-season preparing for the next step. "I know I want to get stronger and bigger before I get to Alabama," he stated. "I want to learn the game better. They want me to come in and work as a defensive end. I feel like my biggest strengths are my hands, and I have great speed." Sentimore scored an 18 on the ACT and maintains a 2.5 GPA.
