Heard Hears From Big Names

The 2010 running back comes from a top notch program in Ohio, and is starting to hear from some big time names. Has he received a coveted offer yet?

Cardinal Mooney is one of the premier programs in the state of Ohio. At least once a year you can expect one of their players to sign a national letter of intent to play again at the next level. Braylon Heard is no different, following in the same path of those who came before him.

“It’s great (playing for a program like Mooney) because you have a lot of guys you can depend on and they’ll back you up. You don’t have to do anything yourself, it’s just a great feeling.”

Though the 5'10, 165-lb blazer hasn’t received an offer to date, it’s something that is more than likely just around the corner. Several big timers have lined up to start the process with Heard.

“I haven’t gotten any offers yet, but I’m getting a lot of letters from a lot of schools. Like Iowa, Illinois, Florida State, Ohio State, Michigan State and schools like that.”

Notoriously absent from those lists are the Trojans from Southern Cal and Nittany Lions of Penn State. Should those universities jump into the fray, it could become a short recruiting process for the junior.

“My two favorites are USC and Penn State but I haven’t heard anything from them yet. I like hearing from Iowa but that’s about it.”

Many would hope to see Heard in action over the coming summer camp and combines scheduled. It’s something Heard is open too, but hasn’t put too much thought in.

“I don’t really go to camps but my friend does. I might go to Penn State’s camp with him.”
