Williams May Commit Soon

Philadelphia, Pa., product Chris Williams got a taste of what it’s like to play in the state championship game this season and is now focused on finding a future home for himself at the collegiate level. He currently has one scholarship in hand and is thus leaning toward that program.

Chris Williams played mostly as a rush linebacker this season in West Catholic High School’s 3-4 defense, so the 6-foot-2, 220-pounder thinks he’d be most comfortable doing that at the college level as well. Luckily for him, the one offer he has is to do the exact same thing he did in high school.

“I am probably going to commit to Central Connecticut State,” Williams said. “The coaches there have been very persistent about getting me to come there and I’m taking an official visit on January 23rd.”

“They actually run almost the exact same defense as we do and would want me to play their “Leo” linebacker position which is what I did for West Catholic. I’m just going to go up and see how I like it there.”

Williams has also been hearing from Delaware State and Louisville lately, but admits that he thinks Louisville is a long shot at this point.

He registered 70 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, four sacks, two forced fumbles and returned a fumble for a touchdown as a senior.
