Ja-Mes Logan, the 6-foot-3, 185-pound three-star wide receiver from Westfield High School in Houston, Texas, just returned from his official visit (Jan. 16) to Oklahoma State and says the Cowboys are his new favorite.
“The visit was real good,” Logan said. “They really showed me a good time. I liked hanging out with the players and getting to know the coaches better.”
His host was (sophomore defensive back) and former high school teammate Brodrick Brown. “I used to play with Brodrick in high school and would love to play with him again,” he said.
“We’re real good friends and he’s been talking to me a lot during the whole process,” he said. “He says that I just need to make the right choice for me.”
Besides the players at Oklahoma State, Logan was most impressed by the new Cowboy facilities. “The facilities are great,” he said. “They are very, very big and it’s all set up pretty cool too. They are still working on stuff, but it’ll be great once it’s all done.
“Plus they had a real good season and I think they’ve got a shot to win the Big 12 next year,” he said.
The Cowboys are new to Logan’s list primarily because they only started recruiting him about three weeks ago. “They had a receiver spot open up and said I was their No. 1 guy in line,” Logan said.
“The coaches are real laid-back and told me they really want me to work hard and compete early,” he said. “They have a real good relationship with the players.”
Scout.com’s No. 124 wide receiver will be visiting Ole Miss on Jan. 23. He’s already visited Missouri and says that Oklahoma State now leads slightly over the Rebels and the Tigers.
No longer on his short list are Arizona and Oregon (Dec. 12 visit). “I really just felt more comfortable with Oklahoma State,” Logan said. “I was supposed to visit Arizona this weekend, but canceled it and went to Oklahoma State instead.”
Logan plans to announce his decision on signing day.
Logan reports a 3.2 core GPA and a 1350 SAT.
