Sources have informed Scout.com that Adrian (Mich.) wide receiver Jerrod Dillard has committed to Akron.
The 6'4, 175-lb Dillard had a second FBS scholarship offer from Western Michigan, but chose the Zips. He received the offer on his official visit this weekend.
As a senior, Dillard had 23 receptions for 358 yards and five touchdowns.
Scouting Report: Having seen Dillard in person a couple times, I have a good feel for his abilities. He has good height and he uses it to go up over defenders. A basketball player, he shows good leaping ability and timing in going up and getting the ball at its highest point. He is not a burner but has decent speed and quickness and can get separation. Where he needs work is in the weight room. He is quite thin and is easily redirected and bumped off his route by physical cornerbacks. I believe he will need a redshirt year to ready himself in the weight room. Once he does that, he has a chance to contribute because of his natural pass catching abilities.
