The hits keep coming for Demarco Cobbs, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound athlete from Central High in Tulsa, Okla.
“I just wanted to tell you that I got the offer from Florida,” Cobbs beamed!
“My coach also told me that I got an offer from Missouri yesterday.”
You could probably go ahead and cement the Gators as a likely destination for an official visit at some point.
“That is a visit that I definitely want to take,” Cobbs said.
Cobbs now reports offers from Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Alabama, Florida, Texas Tech, Missouri, Tulsa, Arkansas and Tennessee.
Central High head coach Corey Russell is happy to see al of these opportunities rise up for his star athlete.
“It is real exciting for Demarco,” Cobbs explained. “I bet it will get even more exciting over the next couple of weeks.”
“It is great to see him have all of these opportunities to go to these universities. They all have great football programs and offer great academics. He’s got some good options.”
Cobbs, who earned Scout.com All-Combine honors at wide receiver for his performance at the U.S. Army Combine, reports that he is now checking in at 200 pounds.
Could he just as a likely end up playing on the defensive side of the ball by the time it is all said and done?
“Yeah, that is just what my body is turning in to,” Cobbs admitted. “I am putting on good weight right now. I guess you could say I am turning in to that free safety type.”
“He is keeping his speed and his agility up,” coach Russell added.
Next up for Cobbs will be a Junior Day visit to the University of Oklahoma on Saturday. He also has plans to attend a Junior Day at Texas on Sept. 8.
