Sherman Oaks (Calif.) Notre Dame linebacker Jordan Barrett continues to wait out the recruiting process, spending time getting in touch with coaches as he gets closer to making his decision.
“I’m still talking to some coaches and some schools, still in the process of figuring things out,” said Barrett. “I’ve been talking with Arizona State, Vanderbilt, UCLA and UNLV and I’m trying to get in contact with Boston College and Washington.”
Barrett said Washington and UNLV have offered him, while the others are still deciding if they’ll offer.
“Washington and UNLV, I have offers from, but I’m trying to get those figured out from the other schools,” said Barrett. “I haven’t been able to get in touch with Washington so I’m still trying to call them.”
Barrett already visited UNLV, doing so last fall, but he’s hopeful he’ll be able to squeeze in some visits before Signing Day.
“I tripped to UNLV and I really liked it there, but I definitely hope I can take a couple more visits before I decide,” said Barrett. “We’re getting pretty close to the end so I’m just trying to see what happens and then hopefully things will pick up.”
Barrett said no school has emerged as a leader, with each school being one he’s considering.
“I don’t really have a leader. They’re all up there. I’m just trying to see which school offers me next so I can have a better idea.”
Barrett said he’s flexible about which linebacker spot he’ll play.
“I played both outside and inside linebacker so it really doesn’t make that much of a difference to me which spot I play,” said Barrett.
Academically, Barrett said he’s in fine shape and fully qualified.
