Six Offers for Alex Kenney

State College, Pa., product Alex Kenney has been surrounded by the Penn State program his entire life and now that he has a scholarship offer from them the pressure is on more than ever for him to commit to the school. Kenney is certainly very fond of the Nittany Lions, however he wants to consider all of the options he gets, which are building quickly.

State College High School burner Alex Kenney picked up a scholarship offer from Pittsburgh today and now holds offers from the Panthers, Illinois, Boston College, Penn State, Stanford and Virginia. The 6-foot, 190-pound wide receiver has been hearing from plenty of other programs as well and just wants to take a methodical approach to recruiting.

"Penn State offered recently and there is a lot of pressure on me to go there given that my father works there and that I live right near the school," Kenney said. "I think a lot of people that don't know me very well think that it's the school of my dreams and I'm a lock to go there, but I'm definitely keeping my options open to other schools too. I definitely like Penn State a lot, don't get me wrong, I just want to see what's out there. I know if I got to PSU I'm close to family, I'm playing great football and getting a great education though."

"Pittsburgh offered me today and I don't really know much about them other than what I've seen on television. I know that they have a great reputation as a football program, but I really need to learn more. Illinois is also in that category as I really know nothing about that school."

"I actually visited Boston College over the summer and thought the campus was absolutely beautiful," Kenney explained. "I mean, if you imagine in your head what a college campus should look like, that's Chestnut Hill. It's a bit smaller than most schools and I like that it's convenient for football players to get from classes to practice and what not. Obviously the education they provide is also excellent."

Kenney has also been getting heaps of mail from Notre Dame, Tennessee, Oregon and Virginia Tech.
