Wilson Contemplates One More Visit

Deron Wilson of O.P. Walker in New Orleans, LA reports that his commitment to Southern Miss remains in tact, but the talented corner is not 100% sure he will sign with the Golden Eagles. A pair of schools are jockeying for position in an attempt to get Wilson in for an official visit next weekend.

"I might go visit K-State next weekend," said Deron. "I just got the new offer from Kansas State this week. I had one from Coach Ron Prince, but I just got a new one after Coach Snyder offered me."

Wilson's cousin, Frank Wilson recently took a job at Tennessee after a short stay at Mississippi State. Frank's presence resulted in two official visits, one to Southern Miss and another to Mississippi State last weekend for Deron. Now that Coach Wilson is in Knoxville, Deron may be visiting there as well.

"Tennessee is trying to set something up for the 30th too," said Wilson. "I am just not sure what I am going to do yet and where I am going to go next weekend."

The weekend of the 16th the product from the Big Easy arrived at Mississippi State the same day his cousin Frank left for his new spot at Tennessee.

"My visit to Mississippi State went good," said "I like the community there. Everybody was real friendly."

Despite a flurry of activity the past few weeks, Wilson reports that he still considers himself a Southern Miss commitment.

"I am still committed to Southern Miss," said Deron. "I am still pretty solid. I am probably just going to take another visit and go check at the campus and all of that. I will make a decision after that last visit. I will know for sure in about a week."
