Fletcher Cox profile
"I just want everyone to know that I am 100% going to Mississippi State," said Cox. "It's been kind of stressful with everything that has been going on the last little while. There have been a lot of schools calling and stuff, but I know I am 100% going to Mississippi State."
The All-State defensive end reports that his decision to be a Bulldog is one that his entire support system supports.
"All of my family wants me to go to State and that's where I want to go," said Fletcher. "I just know that it's the place for me to be and I am excited about going there."
Cox took an official visit to Alabama and then one to Mississippi State. He had a visit scheduled to Southern Miss this past weekend. He elected to cancel that visit.
"Mississippi State is where I want to be, so I didn't want to take another visit," said Cox. "I didn't want to go down there and waste their time and everything. If I took that trip knowing I was 100% committed to another school it wouldn't have been fair to them. I just decided to cancel it."
The Mississippi State signing class is going to contain many of the top players in the state of Mississippi and that is something that Cox is happy about.
"It's going to be a great thing," said Fletcher. "I played with a lot of those guys in the All-Star game. We are all going up there to State and represent our communities. I am going to be with those guys with the next four years and I am already close friends with all of them. It's going to be a lot of fun."
The Yazoo County standout reports that state pride means a lot to him and he is grateful that many of the state's products are staying home for their college careers.
"We have a lot of talent in Mississippi," said Fletcher. "It's good to see the top players in Mississippi staying in state and representing the state of Mississippi. I am glad to see that even some of the guys that aren't coming to State are still staying in state. That's good for the state of Mississippi."
