With the 2009 recruiting class a week away from Signing Day, here is a look at the Final West 150,
where several players made big jumps in the final tally from the preseason 150.
Four-star safety Craig Bills from Provo (Utah) Timpview, a commit to BYU, jumped 31 spots to #12 in the West. Right behind him is San Diego (Calif.) Cathedral Catholic running back Tyler Gaffney, a Stanford commit who leaped 46 spots to #13.
Kirby Moore, headed to Boise State to join his brother Kellen, both from Prosser (Wash.), moved up 68 spots to #66 and another Bronco-to-be, Joe Southwick, moved up 42 spots to #56.
Taylor Martinez, an all-state quarterback from Corona (Calif.) Centennial, went up 63 spots to #64, Oregon State-bound quarterback Cody Vaz from Stockton (Calif.) St. Mary's, moved up 41 spots, Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian tight end Christopher Coyle went up by 38, Issaquah (Wash.) Skyline receiver Gino Simone went up 29 places and Oxnard (Calif.) receiver Jamal Smith moved up 31.
New to the West 150 are Kapolei (Hawaii) linebacker Simione Vehikite, Hilo (Hawaii) defensive tackle Semisi Tokolahi, Lake Oswego (Ore.) quarterback Jack Lomax, Long Beach (Calif.) Poly safety Stanjarivus McKay and defensive end Iuta Tepa, Salt Lake City (Utah) Cottonwood running back Isi Sofele and Bakersfield (Calif.) Christian quarterback Derek Carr.
