Travis Freeman, self admittedly at the top at most MAC boards, finally pulled the trigger with one week left for most seniors to make their final decisions. He will be a Ball State Cardinal.
"Yes sir, I did commit to Ball State. Just the fact that the head coach and I have a great relationship. He's been recruiting me for a while and things like that. It was a family vibe there, just as a friend and family atmosphere. I feel like Ball State is going to do big things, and I want to be a part of it."
Freeman won't be the only Glenville product joining the program in Muncie. Teammate Theon Dixon also committed to the Cardinals over the weekend, and it's something Freeman is very excited about. They have some work to put in, but stand a good chance at persuading another teammate, Jason Pinkston, to join them as well.
"Yeah, Dixon committed too. It's going to be great having three guys out there, we're going to have a great defense. I play linebacker, and Theon plays next to me, and we'd have Jason in coverage. You feel a sense of trust and you know you're not alone. It's a great feeling have guys I've known for a while."
While the presence of two Tarblooders will certainly go a long way with Pinkston, his choice isn't made, and Freeman is insistent the choice will remain only with him.
"No, no, Jason isn't committed yet. I think he's down to Ball State and Toledo, but whatever choice he makes is for him."
Ball State hosted another big recruiting weekend this past weekend as it hosted 5 already committed…
