Army All American Names Leaders

Amos P. Godby standout, Corey Gaines, is ready to finish up his recruitment. With a trip to Auburn left on his schedule, Gaines could make a decision as early as Sunday. Go inside to read more.

"Everything is going smooth," stated Corey Gaines. "I've narrowed my final two schools down to Ole Miss and Auburn."

Gaines had a busy evening as he entertained the two head coaches from his final schools.

"Coach Chizik is almost to my house. He's coming in tonight. Coach Houston Nutt came in tonight and met my family."

What did Coach Nutt say to the Army All American?

"He told me he wanted me to be the corner stone of the class. He said he likes me as a person and as a player. They're looking for me to play DT."

Gaines admitted that he does not know much about Auburn but looked forward to learning more about them this weekend.

"I don't know much about Auburn. They want me to play DT. I just can't wait to meet with Coach Chizik and learn more about the school this weekend."

The talented Floridian visited Ole Miss last weekend and took in the atmosphere in Oxford.

"Ole Miss was great. There wasn't a down time while I was there. The town really surprised me. I didn't think there would be much to do but I was wrong. I feel the most comfortable with the Ole Miss staff because they've been recruiting me the longest."

What is Gaines looking for in the school he chooses?

"I want good academics and a family atmosphere. I want to be able to be myself in front of my teammates and coaches."

When will the talented DT make a decision?

"I plan to make a decision on Sunday or Monday."
