Scout.com: You played quarterback for most of your high school career, why the switch to wide receiver and defensive back?
Washington: It was the best move for me to get to the next level. It has been a pretty smooth transition. The interest from schools has picked up and the coaches say I look like I have been playing those positions all my life.
Scout.com: What schools are showing interest?
Washington: University of Connecticut as a defensive back. I still talk to Maryland as a defensive back. Prairie View has been talking to me recently as well. Most of the schools are looking at me for defense.
Scout.com: What is most important to you about the school you will attend?
Washington: I want to be comfortable with the players and coaches. I want to have a good environment. It doesn’t matter where. I would go to the west coast if it was a good opportunity. If I have a chance to compete and it’s a good fit then I am interested.
Scout.com: You really stood out at the Crab Bowl practices. How was the experience playing against the best in Maryland?
Washington: It was really good. Playing against the players you read about and to compete all week against the very best it was a great time. I hope that it will help me in the eyes of coaches and show them I can play at the highest level.
