"I will be going to Loganville starting on Tuesday [February 10]," said Johnson. "My family moved, so I will start fresh at Loganville tomorrow."
At Buford, the 5-foot-11, 210 pound back was a big part of their back to back state championship teams. He is going to take to Loganville what he learned at Buford.
"I treasure what happened at Buford a lot and I think what happened there will help me at Loganville. I am just going to take what happened at Buford with me and I hope I can help the team next year."
Loganville Head Coach Eric Godfrey has to be excited about Johnson's arrival.
"Loganville was 9-1 in the regular season last year and I have already talked to the coaches there and they think I could be that missing piece. I am just going to go over there and work hard and try to help."
He is looking forward to the offense as well. Johnson wants the ball and it looks like he will get it in Coach Godfrey's system.
"They run a lot of the same stuff that we ran at Buford," he said. "They run some one back stuff, the I-formation, and things like that. Their running back carried the ball 246 times in 11 games last year, so I hope I get the ball like that. I am a strong back and ready to carry the ball. I am excited about the opportunity at Loganville."
The fresh start begins this week on Tuesday and he is already focused on his new team.
"They did not lose much off their team and I think we can be good next year. They are only losing one starter on the offensive line and they have a big sophomore coming in to replace him, so I think we can do good things. I am looking forward to getting out there this spring."
Storm Johnson will likely bring a lot of college coaches around Loganville later this spring. He already has offers from Auburn, Tennessee, South Florida, UCF, and Stanford. A lot of other schools like LSU, Michigan, East Carolina, Florida, and Ohio State are showing interest.
