Gilroy (Calif.) quarterback Jamie Jensen continues to be patient as he searches for a school to continue his football career...

Gilroy quarterback Jamie Jensen (6-3, 210), was one of the most prolific passers in California the past two years, throwing for 7,000 yards.

Yet, Signing Day came and went, and Jensen didn’t sign anywhere.

“I’m just kind of waiting it out right now, just hoping that something happens, but if it doesn’t I’ll just go the JC route,” said Jensen.

In the meantime, Jensen is keeping tabs on a few situations with a few schools.

San Jose State has been talking to us. My dad is staying in touch with a lot of schools. We’re still talking with New Mexico, San Jose State, San Diego State a little bit and Washington. That’s about it,” said Jensen. “I’m just keeping open options until August.”

If Jensen does have to go the JC route, he’s looking at a few different schools, including national power City College of San Francisco.

“I’m looking at City (CCSF), Santa Rosa and Monterey as possibilities,” said Jensen. “CCSF does a good job of bringing guys in and sending them out the next year.”

Jensen can look at Jeremiah Masoli for the perfect example. Masoli was at CCSF for one year, in 2007, leading the Rams to the state title. The next year, he was starting for Oregon as a sophomore.

The frustration of having nowhere to sign has worn on Jensen, but he’s taking it in stride.

“I really don’t even know what the deal is,” said Jensen. “I wish I had the answer to it. I’m telling my dad, something will happen, even if I do have to go the JC route. Something will happen. Yeah, it sucks and it’s disappointing, but there is not much you can do about it. So I just do what I can.”

But he would like some kind of idea of what his future holds.

“It would be nice to know in the next month, to figure it out where I’m going,” said Jensen. “Then I can focus on that and only that. I want a good fit.”

Jensen is a full qualifier.

“I’m all cleared with the NCAA Clearinghouse. I haven’t really thought about the prep school route,” said Jensen.
