Fortt Holding 13 Offers
Khairi Fortt picked up new offers from Penn State, Wisconsin and Tennessee this week to add to the 10 he already had from Notre Dame, Boston College, Connecticut, Rutgers, Syracuse, Maryland, North Carolina, Duke, Virginia and Ohio State. The 6-foot-2.5, 221-pound outside linebacker spoke about PSU, Tennessee and the Badgers with us on Thursday. "Penn State is a great school and my father and I have been looking over the depth chart at linebacker and talking to Coach Ron Vanderlinden about it," Fortt said. "I have known Coach Van since the eighth grade as Penn State was actually the first camp I ever attended. They want me to come for a private visit to see the campus because I haven't seen all of that. I was down there for the Michigan game, but I spent my time in the stadium which was crazy. The student section had a white out going on and they looked like a school of fish waving back and forth with the white towels. It was pretty intense." "I don't know much about Tennessee or Wisconsin right now, but I can talk about the few things I do know," Fortt explained. "First of all, I was excited to get an offer from a school in the SEC with Tennessee and know they just got a new coach in Lane Kiffin. I do talk to the staff quite a bit and am definitely excited about the opportunity, but I really need to look into their academics with my family." "My cousin Tony Elliott played at Wisconsin in college before going to the NFL and playing for the Saints, but that's really all I know about them at this point." Fortt has no favorites at this point and has a ton of visiting to do before he even thinks about narrowing his list.
