Pittsburgh will have a lot of competition at the quarterback position in the upcoming year and E.J. Schneider would definitely like to be part of that equation some day if given the opportunity by the coaching staff. He talked to us on Saturday after leaving the school about how his visit went.
Delbarton High School signal caller
E.J. Schneider
traveled to
Pittsburgh
for junior day this weekend and was very impressed with what he encountered. The 6-foot-1, 170-pound athlete has yet to pick up his first offer, but is hoping he can get in the mix with the Panthers.
“Pitt was really, really good,” Schneider stated. “They took us on a tour of the facilities which were absolutely amazing and then we went to the basketball game which was a lot of fun. Pitt won by about 15 points and the student section was absolutely crazy. I loved the atmosphere in the building.”
“Coach Wannstedt and the rest of the staff are all great guys and they really do a good job building a family atmosphere,” Schneider offered. “They told me that they would definitely be in touch with me throughout the spring and summer. Coach Wannstedt did the quarterbacks meeting because they don’t have a position coach yet, but he told us to expect that announcement to come within the week. Other than that I just liked the feel of the city and campus and was excited to hear they have a good sports medicine program because that is definitely a possibility for me when I get to college.”
As a junior, Schneider completed 141 of 229 passes for 1985 yards and 24 touchdowns to only nine interceptions. He carries a 3.2 core GPA.
