Glen Mills, Pa., native Marcellus Irving primarily played tight end this season for his team because of a horde of depth at the running back position, however as a senior he’ll be taking over the backfield duties and be playing the same position he’s projected to play at the collegiate level.

Marcellus Irving, a 5-foot-10, 200-pound running back from Garnet Valley High School has been getting attention lately from Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Temple, Boston College, Maryland, Penn State and Akron and definitely has some schools that he likes more than others already.

“Coach (Brian) Angelichio came into my school to see me and was a really nice guy in the short time we met,” Irving explained. “He told me he’d be coming back in May to watch me work out. I think Pittsburgh is a classy program that features the running back a lot and always has a very talented offensive line. I’m very interested in Pitt.”

“Syracuse is another program I’m really interested in,” Irving offered. “I have a connection with the program as my father sent some players there when he was a high school coach and the few times I’ve been there I’ve loved everything about it. The campus is beautiful, the stadium is great and I love the support from the fan base.”
