The 6' 5", 225 pound athlete out of Miami Palmetto Senior has established himself as one of the top pass rushers in the state of Florida. It might surprise you when you hear the position he believes best fit his skills.

"I think I am better at wide receiver because of my size compared to the defensive backs," added Delvin Jones. "That is why I feel like I am better at receiver. I just have such a size advantage."

Speed is not a problem either as he ran the 100 meters in a 10.7 in track last spring, but you can not ignore the numbers he put up at defensive end this past season.

"I had 20 sacks and 70 tackles at end. On offense, I had 9 catches for 90 yards and a TD. I played for LaSalle last year, but I transferred to Miami Palmetto. They are going to play me a lot more at WR this year."

What kind of game does Delvin bring to the table?

"On defense, I think I am too fast for the tackles to handle. Even if they get a hand on me, I am too strong. There is no way they can stop me. On offense, I am big, fast, and I can catch the ball in traffic or over someone."

Jones received his first two scholarships recently.

"I got one from Ole Miss and Tennessee, and some more colleges are close. I have been talking to Coach Chemac at Southern Cal, Coach Barrow from Miami, and Bradford from Florida. FSU came by our school recently and spoke to me. I have been talking to a lot of schools lately."

Which college camps does the 2008 All-Dade selection plan to attend this summer?

"Coach is taking us to FSU, Ole Miss, and Tennessee. I also want to go to a camp at Oregon. Their coach was talking about me coming to their camp. I have got to get a date with them, but I know I am going to FSU, Tennessee, and Ole Miss'."

What is going on with Ole Miss?

"They offered me about a week ago, about the same time Tennessee did. I watched them beat Florida live, and I watched them play Texas Tech on TV. They are becoming a power house program. I spoke to Coach Nutt the other day, and I have been talking to their recruiter from this area a lot lately. They really like me at WR. They said they do not have that big presence at receiver yet. That is the same thing that Tennessee told me."

Jones expands on the Vols.

"I have not seen them play. The only thing I have seen is that they got a good head coach in Lane Kiffin. We spoke on the phone a few days ago too. Coach Kiffin told me to stay on my books, and mapped out a plan for me to graduate by December. I want to get out early. The coach who recruits me for Tennessee is Coach Grant. He is the coach I mostly talk to."

Which school is closest to offering next?

"I think it would be South Carolina, North Carolina, or Southern Cal. I also spoke to a coach at UCLA too."

Which position is each school recruiting Jones to play?

"Ole Miss andTennessee like me at receiver. Southern Cal likes me at TE. South Carolina likes me at DE. North Carolina has not said yet. Florida likes me at defensive end too. Miami too. It is really split 50/50 between DE and WR, but some schools like me at TE too."

Jones hopes to open some eyes at WR this season.

"I am going to try and ball it out on the offensive side of the ball because I have been balling on defense."

Will Delvin play TE or WR this season?

"I have only played TE in one game of my life. I am playing WR this year."
