Columbus, N.J., defensive back Thaddeus Richards hasn’t hauled in his first offer yet, but he does have a number of programs showing serious interest in him. Recently, three more schools have started to recruit him very hard and he talked about them with Scout.com.
Thaddeus Richards
, a 6-foot-0.5, 180-pound cornerback from Northern Burlington County Regional High School has been hearing from the same schools for a while now, but recently
Stanford
,
Vanderbilt
and
North Carolina
have stepped up their efforts.
“I really like Stanford a lot because of the academics and location of the school,” Richards explained. “My mom actually just moved out to Cali, so it would be nice to have family close. They are a good program and Head Coach
Jim Harbaugh
has them on the rise right now. I do plan on camping out there this summer.”
“Vanderbilt is another school with very good academics and I have family near the campus, so again, it would be great to have that support system nearby. The program has really come on strong lately and they just won their first bowl game in a long time this year. I think they’re really starting to show their faces in the SEC.”
“I’m from a military family and we’ve moved around a lot, so I’m familiar with the area around North Carolina and think it’s really nice,” Richards stated. “I’m a big fan of their defense and how the corners play. They are a very in your face type of team and Coach Butch Davis is great at what he does.”
Despite missing five games with a fractured forearm, Richards finished his junior season with 35 tackles, two interceptions and three pass breakups. On offense he had 16 catches for 232 yards. He was named first-team All-Conference at defensive back and was the recipient of the Burlington County Football Club Scholar Athlete Award. He reports a 3.7 core GPA and scored a 1630 on the PSAT.
