Offers arrive for Peach State teammates

Loganville, Ga. - The Grayson Rams had a pair of players offered scholarships this week. The 5A Semi-Finalist has several players to keep an eye on in 2009.

The Grayson Rams in Loganville, Ga. had a tremendous season in 2008 with a 13-1 record that included an overtime loss in the Semi-Finals to Peachtree Ridge. Grayson should be a handful for teams again in the 2009 season with a solid nucleus of players returning including a pair of defenders that picked up offers this week.

6-1 and 240 pound defensive end Joseph Champaign picked up an offer from Stanford. Champaign has the skill set to play any number of positions depending on the scheme employed. He could remain at end, or bulk up and play defensive tackle. He could even be a jumbo linebacker in a 3-4 type of defense that uses bigger backers. Champaign posted 42 tackles as a junior.

There is no such doubt about the position of big 6-1 and 285 pound Shawn Green. Green is an interior lineman on the next level that has the quickness to remain on defense. Green picked up his first offer this week when ECU offered a scholarship.

Little Big Man Ean Pemberton is another player to keep an eye on for the Rams, if you can find him. At 5-4, Pemberton posted 1,949 yards in Georgia's largest classification.

Terry Williams is a similar player to Champaign. He's a big linebacker at 6-0 and 250 pounds that could end up putting his hand on the ground on the next level.

Grayson made a surprise run to the State Semi-Finals last year, but with a solid core of seniors returning, the Rams won't surprise anyone if they make a return trip to the Sem's and beyond in 2009.
