Dalvin Glass, the 6-foot-3, 290-pound offensive guard from Carter High School in Dallas, Texas, says he now has a scholarship offer from Alabama in addition to previously received rides from Texas A&M and Nebraska.
He says he has a lot of homework to do when it comes to the Tide. “I don’t really know much about them,” Glass said. “I know it’s a good program, but I’m still learning about them.”
“I haven’t been to any of these schools,” Glass said. “I haven’t gone to any junior days and the only one I’ll probably go to is Baylor. I’m not even sure about any camps yet.”
Glass says that A&M was his first offer last September and despite being invited to several games he wasn’t able to make the two-hour commute.
“I like A&M and I don’t care about the distance I don’t think,” he said. “I haven’t really decided on that.
“I really like their coaches,” he said. “They seem like nice people and are kind of traditional. They work hard and have a good relationship with their players.”
Although he hasn’t visited Nebraska yet either, Glass is well aware of their tradition and history. “I think they can get back there again,” he said. “They have great coaches and they just need some big players to make the jump. I think they definitely need help on the line so that’s good for me.”
Glass says he grew up following Arkansas but the Razorbacks aren’t recruiting him yet. “My uncle ran track for Arkansas and we would always go there,” he said.
Two other programs that Glass says he hopes to receive offers from are Kansas and Oklahoma.
“Oklahoma is another school that I’ve always kind of liked,” he admitted. “They win a lot. But they aren’t recruiting me. I haven’t heard from them.”
The Jayhawks on the other hand have shown Glass some interest. “They have a young team and I know some people there already,” he said.
“I’m going to go through the whole process,” he said. “I’m trying to find a school that fits me and I really want to go to a place that wins and has good coaches.”
Glass says he benches 340-pounds, squats 450 and has a 22-inch vertical jump.
“I have good feet and I’m a great run blocker,” he said. “That’s all my team does so I’ve gotten real good at it. I have great technique and listen to my coaches.”
Glass says that because his team run blocks the majority of the time he wants to improve his pass blocking. “I don’t get to do it very much,” he said. “I need to get my feet better and be faster to be a better pass blocker.”
Glass says he wants to major in either culinary arts or coaching science. He reports a 2.9 core GPA and is awaiting the results of his March 14 SAT.
