Seventh Offer for Haplea

Kevin Haplea is picking up steam in recruiting, having just scored his seventh written scholarship offer from Purdue and is spending a long weekend taking three visits to check out some schools of interest.
North Hunterdon High School tight end
Kevin Haplea
grabbed another offer this week and the 6-foot-5, 230-pound athlete talked to Scout.com about his itinerary over the weekend earlier this week.
“I got an offer from
Purdue
today,” Haplea said. “I talked to one of the coaches on the phone and they said it was already in the mail. Coach (Lou) Anarumo and I talked for about 10 minutes and he just started talking to me a little bit about the school and how they use their tight ends. He was definitely using
Dustin Keller
from the Jets as a sales tool there.”
“I don’t know that much about them actually because I hadn’t been in contact with them to be doing research which I’ll do now. I’m not sure if or when I’ll be able to visit because it’s so far away, so I’ll have to work that out with my family at a later date.”
“I go to
Pittsburgh
Friday for practice,
Penn State
on Saturday for practice and then I’m leaving school early on Monday to go to
Rutgers
,” Haplea explained. “At Pittsburgh I want to spend a lot of time watching how Coach (Brian) Angelichio interacts with the players and how the overall practice is run. With Penn State I talked to Coach (Dick) Anderson and he told me they’re doing a very, very small junior day, so I’ll be able to get familiar with those kids which will be cool. My mom will also be with me, so that’s a good thing because she’ll obviously have a say in my decision. With Rutgers it’s pretty much going to be the same thing as Pittsburgh, just watching the practice and getting to understand how they do things.”
Coach
Steve Addazio
from
Florida
also contacted Haplea recently, however they haven’t spoken yet.
