Find out why some college coaches believe that Calhoun County (S.C.) offensive lineman Eric Mack…
Eric Mack's road trip
"I have around 12 or 14 offers," said Eric Mack. "The last school that offered me was Auburn. They offered about three weeks ago. I have offers from South Carolina, North Carolina, N.C. State, Florida, Florida State, Wake Forest, Clemson, Tennessee and Alabama as well." "Georgia and Southern Cal are showing interest in me, but haven't offered me. I don't have any favorites right now. I will probably narrow my list down at the end of the season." Mack, at the time of the conversation, was still in Auburn on an unofficial visit with the Tigers. "The visit was good," said Mack. "I saw the campus, chilled with the coaches. I am watching scrimmage right now. It's very fast and physical. I like it down here a lot." "I spent time most of my time with my recruiting coach [Jay] Boulware and coach [Trooper] Taylor. They have basically been saying how much they want me. They want me to start if I work hard." "I talked to [Gene] Chizik as well. He was telling me if I have interest in them he wants to meet my mom. He thinks family is important. He would like to meet my mom and brother." "I love the staff. I feel like I am at home down there. I like everything about Auburn. Everything is really looking great. I just really like everything. If I had any favorites they would be in it." Mack has also been on a recent visit to Columbia to take a closer look at South Carolina. "The trip was straight," he said. "Their offensive line still needs improvement. I think with coach [Eric] Wolford they are going to get the job done." "I like South Carolina a lot. It's like another Auburn. I feel at home. Everything seems so friendly. It's just a good place to be." Mack will leave Auburn Tuesday night to travel to Clemson. He will return to South Carolina this Saturday and will attend Alabama's spring game April 18. "I am going to go up to Clemson to check out their campus," Mack said. "I don't really know too much about their program. I hope to learn more when I get there." "I have been to Alabama before. I am liking them. I like the coaching staff. They are down-to-earth. I like the campus and facilities a lot."
