USC officially offers Smith
"I talked to Pete Carroll himself today (Wednesday) and he is a real cool guy," said Garrison Smith. "He is the one that offered me a scholarship, but I also talked to Coach Franklin and Coach McNair." "They were all cool to talk to and we had a real good talk. Coach Carroll told me himself though that I officially have an offer from the Trojans." The news was not surprising to the four-star defensive lineman because he heard that the Trojans were going to offer him last week. Still, the news brought a smile to his face. "It is just another blessing and I am real excited about this offer," said the 6-foot-3, 255 pound Atlanta native. "I am just thankful for this one like I am all of my offers." Smith now has over 25 scholarship offers and schools from around the country have made him a target in 2010. He is not ready to name a top five or anything yet, but he said he has interest in USC. April 15 is the first day schools to call 2010 prospects and FSU and Tennessee also called the number 27 rated player on Scout.
