For Jay Bucher the wait is finally over. After watching others pick up scholarship offers the Bellbrook (Ohio) High School quarterback found a program wanting to issue him his first offer.
“I’ve now been offered by Air Force,” Bucher said by phone. “I’ve been waiting for my first offer and now I’ve got it with my coach feeling more will soon come.”
While Bucher isn’t ready to make a commitment to Air Force, he is honored to have been offered by the service academy.
“I’ve really not thought about Air Force or any of the service academies until now. But I’ve had a chance to talk with them now and understand what is involved with going to a service academy. It’s an honor to be offered by them and I look forward to learning more about them and other programs that show interest in me in the coming weeks and months.”
Bucher will look to raise his stock at the Cincinnati Scout.com Combine in early May and then during summer camps.
“I’ve talked with several coaches and they want to see me in camp to check out how I throw. I have no problem in going and showing what I’m capable of doing.”
Scout.com will continue to follow Jay Bucher in the coming weeks and months.
