He has five scholarships offers so far, as both a defensive end and a linebacker, and Redlands (Calif.) East Valley's Andrew Hudson already has three official visits set in his mind, but there a couple of schools he'd like to add to both lists...

Redlands (Calif.) East Valley defensive end Andrew Hudson (6-3, 220), is one of the better prospects from the Inland Empire in the class of 2010.

Hudson has five scholarship offers to his credit and there are a couple more schools keeping an eye on him.

Washington, Arizona State, Oregon State, Fresno State and San Diego State have already offered me,” said Hudson. “I’m hearing a little bit from USC, and UCLA has been talking to me a lot. I went to their scrimmage a couple weeks ago. But that’s about it from other schools.”

Hudson said that he’s getting attention as both a linebacker and a defensive end, and he’s hoping to play the latter.

“It varies for each school, but most people say defensive end,” said Hudson. “I don’t know if I want to play linebacker, but if it helps the team, I’ll play it.”

Hudson said that Washington and Oregon State have been recruiting him the hardest, and he’s planning to take some visits to the Northwest.

“I’m going to try to take some visits out to Washington and Oregon State, and see some friends there,” said Hudson. “I played with (UW running back) Chris Polk when I was a sophomore, and Ronnie Fouch was here when I was a freshman. I know for sure I’m going to take an official visit to Washington and Oregon State and then maybe Arizona State. I’ll leave the other two spots open.”

Hudson said his goal is to stay in the west.

“I want to play in the Pac-10 most likely, it all depends on where else I get offers from,” said Hudson. “I’m hoping to hear from USC and UCLA a lot more, but I really like Washington and Oregon State, too. My mom wants me to have the experience of being on my own and being away from family. So we’ll see what happens.”

Hudson was at the Nike Camp last weekend, and said it went well for a while before he took a blow to the head.

“I was doing good, but I got hit in the head during a drill and I think I got a concussion,” said Hudson. “I’m trying to go to some more camps this spring and then camps in the summer.”

As a junior, Hudson had 70 tackles, five sacks and a fumble recovery.

Academically, he said he’s in fine shape.
