Munyer Could Be on the Verge
Sherman Oaks (Calif.) Notre Dame has cranked out quite a few linemen in the past few years, and guard Daniel Munyer figures to be another Knight to play major college football. While Munyer is still waiting for his first scholarship offer, several schools have been keeping tabs on him. "UCLA, Arizona, Washington, UNLV and Iowa State have all been talking with me seriously and I get letters from other schools here and there like Utah," said Munyer. "I play defensive tackle and offensive guard so some schools like me as both, but mostly as a guard. I like the d-line but I would go wherever they want me for." Munyer said he's already got a pretty solid leaderboard of schools. "My top 5 schools are UCLA, Arizona, Washington, UNLV and Iowa State," said Munyer. "I've already visited UCLA a couple of times and I've been to Arizona already. UNLV might offer me soon." The Bruins, in fact, hold a strong place in Munyer's list. "My parents have always wanted me to go there and I've always liked them," said Munyer. "We've had season tickets for a long time. I've been invited to two of their Junior Days and some spring practices and the spring game. I talk with Coach (Chuck) Bullough a lot and also with Coach (Angus) McClure. I'm going to their camp this summer." Munyer stands 6-3 and weighs 265, and started at left guard for the Knights this past season, helping anchor their vaunted offense until a broken arm sidelined him in week nine for the remainder of the season. Fully healthy now, Munyer is hitting the camp and combine circuit this spring. "I went to the Nike Camp in L.A. and besides UCLA I'll be camping at UNLV and Arizona, too," said Munyer, who is also planning on attending the Los Angeles Scout.com Combine in May. Academically, he is in fine shape, with a 3.5 GPA and plans to take the SAT and ACT in May.
