Florida LB has offers
Jamaal Bass might lack ideal size for a linebacker prospect (5-11 and 200) but he makes up for it with excellent speed and playmaking ability. "I'm a little undersized but I'm also very versatile," Bass said. "More so than most linebackers. I can run, I can cover, and I can lay the wood. I can do it all." Bass did a lot on the field for Miramar last season, emerging as one of the better junior linebacker prospects in the area. "I've already gotten offered by FIU and Ole Miss and I'm hoping to pick up some more in the next few weeks when coaches stop by," he said. "My top five right now would be Miami, Tennessee, Wake Forest, South Florida, and Ole Miss." Bass, who said he didn't have a favorite growing up, talked more about the nearby Hurricanes. "They're not recruiting me real hard but they invited me to their camp and I'm going to that," he said. "We'll see what happens there." Bass talked about what he'll be looking for in a school. "I'll look at the coaching staff and how I relate to them," he said. "And then I'll look at how early I'd be able to play there." Inside the classroom, Bass claims a 2.5 GPA and hasn't reported a test score yet.
