Brandon Burrows, a DE/RB out of Marietta (GA) Walton HS, is having a pretty good spring. He is adjusting to the learning of a relatively new role on offense, along with the nuances of a pretty important position: RB.
While things have been a little slow at times on the offensive side of the ball, it has pretty much been business as usual on defense.
Burrows and teammate Kyle Woestmann (DT/OT--himself a holder of multiple BCS offers) were going against one another during one-on-one's, and it was obvious that two Division 1 athletes were competing.
"They were getting after it," said Alabama Defensive Coordinator Kirby Smart. "That drill could have easily been taking place at one of our practices." (Alabama has offered Burrows and is interested in Woestmann as an OL)
Amid all the hype and all of the change, Burrows has been able to stay focused enough to keep things in perspective...enough so to come up with a new Top 7.
"Yes Sir, I have a somewhat new Top 7," he said. "Though it's in no particular order."
Alabama--great defensive scheme
Florida--great coaches
Georgia--really like the way the defense plays
Oklahoma--very impressed by the program
North Carolina State--great facilities and coaches
Oklahoma State--great program; really liked the coach
Tennessee--another great program; I am definitely looking forward to learning more about them."
Stay Tuned as news on Burrows comes available, and expect to hear it first from Scout.
