Royer Weighing His Options
Manheim Central High School defensive end Dakota Royer continues to pick up offers, but at this point he thinks it is time to sit back and relax a little bit while thinking over the choices he has in front of him. Scout.com spoke to the 6-foot-3, 220-pound athlete this week to talk about what's going through his mind. "The Blue and White game was really nice," Royer stated. "It was just a scrimmage, but I got to meet a lot of the players on the team and a lot of the perspective recruits, so that was cool. It was brutally hot out for the game, but I had a lot of fun." "I had lunch with all of the recruits and then a selected few of us went down into a room and Head Coach Joe Paterno came and talk to us," Royer explained. "A few of us that are becoming friends went out onto the middle of the field and hung out for a while and then just stayed around until the game started. Penn State is a school I like a lot and they're definitely up there right now." "Right now the schools that are at my top are Penn State, Notre Dame, Michigan State, Illinois, Pittsburgh and UCLA I guess," Royer said. "Right now I don't really know what's going on because the entire process is confusing, so I'm trying to relax and just take things day by day."
