Lewis Postpones Decision
Bishop Kearney High School tight end/defensive end Jerome Lewis was supposed to be announcing his college decision on Monday, however now he is pulling back the reigns. "I won't be making my commitment on Monday as new things have popped into the picture that I need to consider," Lewis said. "I just heard some things from some other schools that I really liked on Friday, so I'm going to step back now and give everyone a fair chance by clearing my head and going back into it." "Coach Charley Wiles from Virginia Tech came up on Friday and said they love my size and frame for tight end or defensive end and think I'm perfect for what they're going to do down there," Lewis explained. "I also talked to Coach Lewis from Minnesota and he told me some things that I really wanted to hear, so knowing that they have confidence in me I like them too. I just feel like maybe I was rushing a decision." Pittsburgh was the team that Lewis was expected to commit to on Monday and we asked him where the Panthers stand now. "Everyone knows how I feel about Pittsburgh up here in Rochester," Lewis stated. "I love them and they're definitely way up at the top of the list. I feel like when I'm talking to the coaching staff I'm talking to a member of my family, so I have a great relationship with those guys. We don't even talk about recruiting anymore, it's all about life." Lewis may be taking a step back for a week or it could be longer. At this point one would assume that the Panthers are still his leader. Shortly after interviewing Lewis he sent a text to Scout.com that Virginia Tech had just offered him a scholarship.
