The 2008 Clayton County Player of the Year visited Ole Miss last month and left with a lasting impression.

"I just liked Ole Miss and it seemed like everything fit me real good down there," added Clarence Jackson. "Everybody is together, and that is what I am really looking for in a college."

Jackson followed the visit to the University of Mississippi with visits to Tennessee, Georgia, Georgia Tech, and Auburn. But in the end, the Rebels just stayed in his heart.

"I knew I was ready to commit a couple of weeks ago so I just went ahead and called Coach Price this morning to let him know the news. He was very excited. He did not even know what to say. Coach Price just said that he was flattered."

Coach Nutt was also informed.

"Coach Price called Coach Nutt to let him know. He was real excited too. I am going down there on June 7th for the 3 Day camp, and he just told me that he was happy to have me a part of the family."

Who came in second?

"Tennessee. They were up there too, but Ole Miss was in my heart."

The Vols, along with the Rebels, Kentucky, Auburn, North Carolina State, and East Carolina offered.

The 6' 2", 215 pound North Clayton product plays tailback and linebacker. He rushed for over 1, 800 yards and 32 TD's last year and collected 15 sacks on defense.
