2011 Intro: Kendall Patterson

Kendall Patterson is a big defensive tackle to watch out for in the 2011 class. Currently a sophomore at Gilman School, Patterson says he plans on transferring before next year. Patterson has his eye on a few schools, both are big time programs and would give Patterson even more exposure in the Baltimore area.

Keep an eye on rising junior Kendall Patterson. The 6-foot-2, 280-pounder continues to get bigger and stronger and could easily be 300-pounds by the time he’s in college. Patterson played last year at Gilman School, but says that he plans on transferring in the Baltimore area before next season, but he won’t be going far.

Patterson says his favorite schools, in no particular order are “Penn State, Ohio State, Virginia Tech, Oklahoma, Alabama, Florida, Virginia, West Virginia, and Maryland.”

“Growing up I always loved the Big Ten and ACC,” says Patterson. “There are so many schools in those two conferences that I follow and would love to play for. Just recently I have found a new interest in the SEC, just because of the speed of the game and the competition level.”

“The only schools I know for sure are interested are Penn State and Rutgers. My coach has all the rest of my mail and I haven’t seen any of it yet.”

There might not be a long list of interested schools yet but there is still plenty of time for that. After Patterson hits the camping trail in the summer word will start to spread about him. The simple fact that he is already 6-foot-2, 280-pounds will get him looks. Keep posted for sophomore season highlights.
