The Fox Sports/Scout.com Austin combine is Saturday and things are heating up on the recruiting…
Conroe Cornerback Gets First Offer
Chris Parks was one of the players who had a very good Fox Sports/Scout.com combine. Though the event got rained out, Parks was able to test on the 40, vertical jump, and standing broad jump. He was timed at 4.54 in the fourty and measured at 6'1 and weighing 163 pounds. In the standing broad jump he had one of the best jumps at 9'9 which tied him for third place on the day. His 7.27 in the three cone drill was third on the day also. Continuing his vertical jump of 33.4 was also good for third place. Without a doubt, he probably had the best overall day in testing among all the participants. He showed what a lot of scouts already know, he is a great athlete. All of his hard work finally paid off as he got his first offer a few days after the combine. "Chris received an offer from Rice", Parks' dad told Scout.com. The talented junior is coming off a 2008 football season when he was named to second team all-district by the district coaches. Parks is also hearing from Oklahoma State, Northwestern, Purdue, Oklahoma, SMU and "some Texas". Stay with Scout.com for updates on Chris Parks and other players in the state of Texas.
