Scout TV: Dzurko Shows Great Potential

North Penn High School has consistently been one of the best teams in the state for Pennsylvania Class AAAA football, however they don’t turn out quite as many individual talents as some other programs of their size do. This year they do have a much under appreciated player in J.D. Dzurko.
J.D. Dzurko
is a 6-foot-2, 268-pound center from North Penn High School in Lansdale, Pa., that is currently not getting the attention his play merits. While he may need to pack on 20 or 30 pounds, when Scout.com watched his film and saw him in person at our Baltimore Combine we were very impressed with how he moved.
Dzurko has very quick feet and shows above average agility and athleticism for a center. He is very natural in space, gets to the second level quickly and sustains his blocks on linebackers. He has a quick push off the snap and uses good angles while blocking. Dzurko has solid mechanics considering his age and a team that pulls their center should covet him. He lacks power, but he finishes and just needs to add lower body strength. You can red-shirt a player, work on his strength for two years and get him up to 290-300 pounds, but you cannot teach natural quickness, agility and balance. Dzurko is an under the radar player that could end up being a big steal under the right circumstances. You can watch him for yourself here:

Dzurko has been getting visits from schools at several levels so far. At the FBS level he has had coaches stop by from
Syracuse
,
Purdue
,
Kent State
,
West Virginia
and
Pittsburgh
.
He has also been talking to schools from the Colonial Athletic Association in
Richmond
, Delaware,
Rhode Island
,
Villanova
, James Madison, William & Mary, Maine and Towson. Patriot and Ivy League programs like Dartmouth, Columbia, Brown, Holy Cross, Lafayette, Colgate and Bucknell so far.
Dzurko will use the camp season to impress this summer. Right now he is scheduled to be at Syracuse on June 7th, Delaware on June 14th, Purdue on June 18th, Pittsburgh on June 20th and Villanova on June 25th. He’ll likely head to
Rutgers
for one day of their camp at the end of June and will also stop by Colgate. Obviously his summer will be hectic, but it will help him a lot toward earning spots at the next level.
