Bayou DT becoming a hot commodity

The 6' 4", 280 pound defensive tackle out of Bourgeois (LA) had a successful spring training as he has picked up three new offers recently.

"Ole Miss, Florida State, and Arkansas have all offered me in the last week," added Damien Jacobs. "Arkansas offered me yesterday. Ole Miss offered me last Tuesday and Florida State on Thursday."

How did the Arkansas offer go down?

"Coach Robinson called me. He had been at the school about a month or so ago. I kind of forgot about them to be honest, but then he called me last night and said they would love to have me up there and offered me a full ride.

What does Damien know about the Hawgs?

"They had a down season since Coach Nutt left, so they are rebuilding. They are trying to bring in some new players to help get them back on their feet. They want some freshmen to come in there and play next year."

When did Ole Miss get involved?

"Coach Dameron came to my practice about two weeks back, and then he called me last Tuesday and offered me. He said he wanted to be the first SEC coach to offer me, and he was, and they think I can do big things up there too."

Jacobs has not visited the Oxford campus but knows a few things about the Rebels.

"I know everybody is expecting a big year from them this year. It looks like their program is headed in the right direction. I know they whipped LSU last year because I was there (laugh). It was pretty bad. I have been hearing a lot about Ole Miss lately."

What is going on with Florida State?

"Right now, I just like their program. They have been one of my favorite teams since I was young. Their coaches are real cool on the phone so I look forward to meeting them in person."

Any campus visits on tap?

"I went to Auburn this past weekend. I went to Tennessee for a camp a couple of days ago, and I plan on going to LSU this weekend and Ole Miss sometimes this summer. I also plan on going to Tulsa and FSU eventually."

Who is showing the Gray resident the most love right now?

"FSU, Auburn, LSU, and Tulsa are showing me the most attention right now. Probably FSU is showing me the most."

How did the Auburn camp go?

"Well, I never participated in the camp. I just spent the weekend over there with a lot of their top recruits. I really liked their staff. They made me feel at home. The coaches made me feel right at home. They made me feel real good."

How did the Tennessee camp go?

"To be honest, I did not have as much fun up there as I thought I was going to have. I just did not enjoy it like I thought I would. It was OK. I just went up there because Coach Frank (Wilson) wanted me to go."

What is going on with the home state Tigers?

"I will be at LSU this Saturday, and hopefully I will have a good time like I did at Auburn. Monday starts the camp off, and I want to come out with an offer. That is my goal."
