Schools like UVA, Boston College, Villanova, Maryland and Rutgers are looking at Aaron Aiken right now, so Scout.com decided to do the same when we got his highlight film this week. Take a look inside to see this talented signal caller in action.
Aaron Aiken
, a 6-foot-5, 210-pound quarterback from Lawrenceville Prep in Lawrenceville, N.J., has been talking to schools like
Virginia
,
Boston College
,
Villanova
,
Maryland
and
Rutgers
and Scout.com reviewed his film recently to see what kind of player he is.
Aiken has good size and sees the field well, however he does drop the ball a bit in his release. When you’re 6-foot-5, you want to use that size to your advantage, not bring the ball down where pass rushers can knock it to the ground. He is strong armed, puts good velocity on the ball and generally hits his receivers in stride. On several throws you could see him making sure to put the ball where only his receivers could get to it. He also fits the ball into tight spaces with the zip he puts on his throws. Aiken can use his legs to scramble or buy time for receivers and while he doesn’t square his shoulders, he’s accurate while moving. He also is very tough in the pocket, standing tall and taking hits and can feel the rush. His mechanics and release point can be adjusted with time. To form your own opinion of Aiken, watch his film below:
