“Boston College was the 10th school to offer me,” said Bradley Roby. “I got the written offer from them in the mail on Saturday and I was excited about it.”
“I don’t know a lot about them right now, but I know they are a strong academic school. I have talked to their coaches a couple of times too and they really like me on film. That is why they offered. They also offered me as a corner even though their receivers coach really wanted me there.”
The Eagles are the second school out of the 10 to offer Roby as a defensive back. One out of the SEC did the same recently.
“Auburn thinks I have a very high ceiling at cornerback, so they offered me on defense too. Them and Boston College are the only ones that like me as a corner so far. I was just over at Auburn for a passing league and I was locking people down at corner, so they really liked that. I also caught some touchdowns, but they think I could go to the NFL as a cornerback.”
Will position matter to the 6-foot-1, 171 pound speedster out of Suwanee, Ga. – Peachtree Ridge? He also holds offers from Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, Purdue, South Carolina, Indiana, Maryland, Ole Miss, and West Virginia. All of them offered as a wideout.
“I would kind of prefer to play receiver because I have always played that position, but I am starting to think I may be able to go farther as a corner. Auburn has sent a lot of corners to the NFL and Georgia has started to talk with me about corner too, so I am pretty open I guess. It may depend on the staff and what school it is, but I am more open to corner now than I have ever been.”
He is also open to schools pretty much. He likes two, but overall, he says he is still looking around.
“Vanderbilt and Auburn would definitely be up there for me, but I don’t have a top five or anything right now,” said the athlete that has been timed in the 40 yard dashy at 4.34 seconds. “I am not sure right now other than those two. I am still open, but I will probably be narrowing things down a little later this summer. I would like to commit before the season, so I can focus on winning a state championship this year.”
Roby will be in Athens on Saturday for Georgia’s camp and then he plans to attend South Carolina’s camp later this summer.
