Giubilato Ready for Action
Mark Giubilato, a 6-foot-3, 230-pound signal caller from Milford Academy by way of Newtown Square, Pa., is ready to play some prep football this year and hopes his hard work will pay off with multiple scholarship offers. "Coach Chaplick told me he really likes me and thinks I can get big-time offers if I continue to work as hard as I have been," Giubilato said. "After he saw me play in person he threw out a number of BCS schools that he thought I had the ability to start at quarterback for. He definitely sees me as a quarterback and especially likes my athleticism." "I'm interested in schools like Penn State, Michigan State, North Carolina State, Boston College, Iowa, Rutgers, Maryland and Pittsburgh," Giubilato explained. "Those are the top schools off the top of my head that I'd be interested in, but I'm obviously going to take a very open approach to my recruiting the second time around." Giubilato has been working out Monday through Friday with a personal trainer and his good friend and Penn State commitment Mark Arcidiacono. He is also throwing with Joe Price, a wide receiver from Malvern Prep that will be playing at Villanova in 2010. At this point he can bench 225 pounds 13 times and squats 405 pounds 15 times, showing that he is definitely among the elite when it comes to strength at his position.
