Coquitlam (B.C.) Centennial athlete Lemar Durant, the top prospect in British Columbia, landed his first offer this week.
According to his family, Durant was offered by Nevada, as a receiver.
Durant plays on both sides of the ball, and with his big, physical presence, could play on either side in college.
But the Wolf Pack offered him for offense.
"The defensive coach wanted a shot at him but Coach (Chris) Ault said that Lemar is clearly an offensive player," said his mother, Rebecca.
The offer from Nevada comes on the heels of an outstanding showing at the Oregon Nike Camp.
A basketball standout as well as a football standout, Durant had a big junior year on the gridiron for Centennial. He led all of British Columbia in receiving, finishing with 29 receptions for 701 yards and 13 touchdowns on offense. Defensively, he had 31 tackles and six interceptions, three for touchdowns.
