Tyler Robinson talks offers, camp
"I have offers right now from Kentucky and Virginia Tech," said Tyler Robinson. "Kentucky offered me a couple months ago, and Virginia Tech offered me about a month ago." "It's was awesome to get those offers. It's a great feeling to be able to have the opportunity to play at the next level for free." "I have been receiving interest from Tennessee, Middle Tennessee, Illinois, Georgia, Duke and Vanderbilt as well. I don't have any favorites right now. I am just trying to enjoy everything." Robinson talked more about the offers from the two out-of-state schools. "Kentucky wants me to come check them out this summer," he said. "They told me I didn't have to come to their camp. I think Kentucky is a nice place. I know two people who play there. I think they are a pretty good football team." "I plan on going up to Virginia Tech July 10. That offer kind of came out of nowhere. One of their coaches came to my school. He watched me practice and picked up a highlight tape. I then received the offer about a week later." The 6-4, 250-pound prospect will showcase his abilities for a second time with the Tennessee coaching staff. "I live 30 minutes away from Knoxville," Robinson said. "I have liked them since I was a little boy. It would be a dream to go there. I went for the tight ends camp a few weeks ago. They wanted me to come back for the linemen camp this week." "It was a good camp. I had fun. I was always with the first group. I showed them what I could do. I talked to coach [James] Cregg, coach [Lane] Kiffin, coach [Ed] Orgeron and the older coach [Monte] Kiffin." "They told me at tight end I was good. They think I am going to get a lot bigger working out. They want me to come back and work as a center." Robinson recorded 32 catches for 570 yards and 17 receiving touchdowns in 2008. He added 89 tackles on defense, 11 sacks, seven forced fumbles, and an interception returned for a touchdown. "Some schools call, and they look at me at center, some tight end, some defensive end," Robinson said. "I would like to play anything that would get me on the field. I would like to play tight end if possible, but I would do anything to play."
