Junior OT Gets 1st Offer

Tucson (Az.) Salpointe's Jacob Arzouman gets early verbal offer

The class of 2011 is really shaping up to be a monster recruiting class in the Grand Canyon State, especially down in the trenches. Scout.com has confirmed that junior offensive tackle Jacob Arzouman from Tucson Salpointe Catholic has received his first offer.

Salpointe head man Dennis Bene tells us, "Jacob was given a verbal offer from Mike Stoops at Arizona."

This offer solidifies Bene's early feelings that he had a special player in Arzouman.

Bene comments on his big OT, "Jacob has a solid combination of balance and good hands and feet.  He is very smart, tough and disciplined which obviously is appealing to the college coaches.  He started 12 games as a sophomore vs. 9 playoff teams so he gained a tremendous amount of experience early.  I know he has a very good rapport with the U of A OL coach and I am very pleased that Coach Stoops has extended an offer to Jacob."

Arzouman (6-4 255) was named honorable mention all region last year for the Lancers.

Salpointe has a reputation for producing quality offensive linemen. Their list of players they have placed includes Kris O'Dowd (USC), John Romero (Nevada), Ian Brinker (Oregon State) and John Kadous (Notre Dame).
