Jackson Making the Rounds

Kortlan Jackson is a product of our nation’s capital and while he has two offers from smaller schools, he just visited a handful of FBS level schools in hopes of earning scholarships from them.

Kortlan Jackson, a 6-foot-2, 280-pound interior offensive lineman from St. John’s College High School in Washington, D.C., visited Syracuse, Duke, Pittsburgh, Ohio State and North Carolina over the past week and spoke in detail to us about some of his experiences.

“I went up to Syracuse on June 8th and spent a day up there,” Jackson said. “The coaches really liked how I competed and I took away a lot of things I learned up there that I’m going to use in my game this year, so it was a great experience overall. I learned that I’m going to be facing some great competition and also just some small adjustments that really helped me.”

“I thought it was a really nice campus and one of my teammates is a freshman running back there, so I’ve heard it’s a great program to be at,” Jackson added. “The entire coaching staff was great with me and they’re also very knowledgeable.”

“I’m on the way home from Duke now and have been to Pittsburgh, Ohio State and North Carolina as well. I have two offers right now and visited North Carolina Central already as well. It’s a great program that is on the rise and I have confidence in them. On Thursday at North Carolina Coach Pittman came up to me and told me he really liked what I did. He also spoke with my dad and told me that if there were people he could have offered that night I would have been one of them, so that was good news that they like me.”
