Conner Davis is making his rounds in the recruiting process and raved to Scout.com about a quality visit to Clemson. Davis is a member of the Scout.com Top 30 in Virginia and is working hard, trying to become the best lineman in the state. Check out what Davis had to say about the Tigers inside.
Conner Davis
of Deep Run High in Glen Allen, Virginia already boasts numerous offers, including scholarship offers from Virginia,
Wake Forest
,
Maryland
, and
Boston College
. It was another ACC school however,
Clemson
, that recently wowed Davis on his first visit to campus.
“It was my first time down at Clemson,” says Davis. “I got there early in the morning and met up with Coach Andre Powell. The school was actually having a camp for younger kids that week so we watched a little bit of that to start things off. After that Coach Powell took us around the campus and showed us all kinds of things.”
“I liked the campus a lot. It’s got a bunch of trees all around and it was a very hot day, which I like. They have a huge lake right on campus and it seems as if there’s always something going on down there. “
“The weight room was really nice and very up to date, very nice. I also saw that their strength coach had an award for being one of the top strength coaches in the country. That’s always good, knowing that you have one of the best in the country working on making you stronger. The stadium was great. They are getting a whole new renovation over there. They’re getting new offices, meeting rooms, weight rooms, locker rooms, you name it, everything.”
Davis is currently ranked twenty-first on the Scout.com Virginia Top 30, good enough to be top seven amongst offensive lineman. A dominant season and Davis could see himself soaring up the charts.
“Overall I liked Clemson a whole lot. It seems like a great place to play college football. Coach Powell, who showed us around is a great guy. I like him a lot and he is really easy to talk to. Academics are very important at Clemson and a degree there isn’t easy to get, so you know when you get it that it’s an accomplishment.”
Davis has a number of offers to consider and says, “I don’t have any top choices for schools yet, but I did like them a lot.”
