Ball State picked up its 8th verbal commitment for the Class of 2010 Saturday as the Cardinals…
Second Visit Seals Deal
For Quintin Cooper the time to act was now. Having received six official offers (Air Force, Central Michigan, Ball State, Kent State, Marshall and Iowa State) the 5-foot-9, 170-pound defensive back took two visits hoping to help end his recruiting. "I visited Marshall last week and it really came down between Marshall and Ball State. I really liked what I saw at Marshall and enjoyed getting to know their coaches but I knew I needed to make a return visit to Ball State with my mother." The first trip to Muncie, Indiana was without his mother and Quintin knew he wanted his mother to have some input about his college choice. "Today I took my mother on another visit to Ball State and she really liked it and felt it was the right place for me. So I gave the staff my commitment today." With a staff expressing to Cooper a chance to play early and making his family feel at home the choice was an easy one to make. "The coaches feel I could come in and play early doing punt and kickoff returns. But I really liked how they made things feel like home and how they treated my family especially my little sister." Excited about ending his recruiting Cooper knows more offers could be coming. "It would have to take a real tough program to knock Ball State off." With high exceptations Quintin Cooper is ready to get things started for a great senior season. "Now I can just focus on my senior season and works towards helping my team win a league championship and spot in the playoffs. Our goal is to earn a trip to state and win a state title. Quintin Cooper gives Ball State another top football pledge for the Class of 2010.
